JB Beaudet, born and raised in "nature's art colony", Lake George, New York, knew from earliest childhood she'd been destined to become an artist........
....A calling that took her on a decade long sojourn of artful discovery, from the splendor of the Adirondacks from which a young artist drew sustenance. She studied sculpture in Massachusetts, portraiture in New York, design and drawing in California, and in 1984 she at long last found her mentor, Martin Lubner.
Initially, intent upon resuming the study of portraiture, Lubner, a renowned artist and teacher, instead opened for JB a whole new world of artistic appreciation and creativity. From hand tooling limited editions of lithographs of her well known portrait of Paul Mitchell, which repose in collections around the world, to her work in found objects and collage, she has expanded her artistic horizons. JB has been displayed in numerous group and solo art exhibitions and has received numerous awards for her painting and collage work.
JB has been fascinated with the shapes, colors, hues and innuendos of the unique palette of her immediate environment, as well as her ever expanding creative universe, and by the challenge of expressing these in differing media. Working figuratively as well as abstractly, her choice of medium is ever changing to meet the challenge of her vision and an contunuously new choice of subject matter. Exploring new worlds is what keeps her work fresh, exciting and alive.
Having decided on painting pet portraits has developed into her newest and most enjoyable work yet.
